Clark Retirement Community at Keller Lake

Clark Retirement aims to foster an environment where dignity, compassion, and respect flourishes, enriching the lives of older adults and their caregivers. For the organization's Keller Lake location, Progressive Companies embraced the challenge of designing a sanctuary that would blend seamlessly with the natural world, promoting independence, connection, and growth for all residents. The result is a dynamic community center, offering residents a vibrant space to live, play, and connect.

Inspired by the location's serene lake, the team strategically framed views with expansive windows and outdoor balconies, allowing natural light to flood the interiors of all 52 independent-living apartment homes. Every detail, from widened doorways to backup power for medical devices, was designed to empower residents and ensure their well-being. The community encompasses 141,400 square feet of buildings and features a lively town square, heated underground parking, lakefront walking paths, and a fully equipped wellness center and fine dining bistro.

Recognized in Environments for Aging Magazine and honored with a 2023 Citation Award as part of the AIA Indiana Healthcare Design Awards, this retirement community exemplifies impact and innovation. With Progressive acting as the project architectural firm and architect of record, and MKM Architecture + Design acting as the design architect, a beautiful project emerged where nature, compassion, and care converge.
