The J will be the first microunit apartment building in Charlotte of its kind. Designed to accommodate 84 microunits on a tiny 1/3 acre urban infill site (two single family lots), each 325-350 square-foot unit is equipped with a full kitchen and bathroom.

Located in Charlotte, NC’s up-and-coming South End, The J will be the first true microunit apartment building in Charlotte. The J is comprised of 84 units, each 350-360 square-feet, on 0.19 acre buildable.
The living space will transform into a bedroom at the touch of a button using adaptable furniture from manufacturer ORI. With built-in bike storage on each floor, designated scooter parking, and only a block away from the light rail, those who live at The J will be encouraged to take advantage of the walkability of the area, as well as greener mass transit options.
The project expects Fitwel and National Green Building Standard certifications.
