Progressive Companies partnered with Mills Automotive Group and Porsche’s design team to bring a bold vision to life: Porsche Charlotte Northlake, the first African American–owned Porsche Center in the United States. Developed under the innovative Destination Porsche program, the 45,500-square-foot facility sets a new standard for luxury automotive retail by blending heritage, performance, and customer experience into every design detail.
The facility features a two-level showroom with flexible, modular layouts, interactive brand zones that celebrate Porsche’s legacy, motorsport history, and electric future, and glass partitions that open views into the service shop to make the entire environment more engaging. The central Porscheplatz hub, lounge areas, and refreshment zones all contribute to a seamless, high-touch experience rooted in hospitality and precision.
Behind the scenes, the center includes 24 service bays, a vehicle elevator, and a fully integrated parts department to support operational efficiency and enhance the working environment for dealership staff. Progressive Companies also incorporated sustainable design strategies, including natural daylighting, energy-efficient systems, and flexible spatial planning that allows the facility to adapt to future needs.
The Porsche Center Charlotte Northlake reflects Porsche’s global design vision, Mills Automotive Group’s entrepreneurial leadership, and Progressive Companies’ dedication to design excellence and inclusive placemaking.
