City of Danville Comprehensive Plan & Community Engagement

PLAN Danville is a community-centered initiative aimed at developing a new comprehensive plan for Danville, Virginia. This year-long process, facilitated by Progressive Companies and SmithGroup, engages residents from diverse backgrounds to shape Danville’s future. By involving the community through storytelling, mapping, and surveys, the project ensures broad participation and builds confidence in the residents' ability to influence their environment. The plan focuses on four key areas: education (financial, health, and development literacy), environment (climate change, energy, and social determinants of health), economy (local industries, diversification, stabilization), and empowerment (civic engagement and leadership). This collaborative effort seeks to create a resilient and inclusive vision for Danville's future.
