The City of Grand Haven updated its Master Plan in 2023, building on the success of the 2016 plan developed with the Resilient Grand Haven partnership. This update continues the city’s commitment to resiliency, affordable and attractive neighborhoods, safe mobility, a dynamic economy, natural feature protection, and transparent governance. Significant progress has been made since 2016, including zoning amendments to boost housing supply, mobility options, and development efficiency. Guided by the original plan’s nine principles, Progressive Companies led the effort to refine Grand Haven’s vision and prioritize future initiatives. With a focus on smart growth and community engagement, the city aims to remain resilient amidst climate and economic changes.
