Community Plumbing Challenge - Day 1

Day 1

School 125 received us with a welcome ceremony where the local public officials attended. I was invited to raise the Community Plumbing Challenge flag with the school principal to mark the continuation as last year's representative of the victor, Team USA, for the Water Innovation Challenge in Singapore.

All four teams (USA, Australia, Basque & India) presented their designs of the renovation of the wash room, with Team USA presenting first. Final design was chosen by the judges with the approval of the principal. It was a combination of unique components from the four teams, to provide the children with the best designed solution for their hand washing needs. Components selected from the USA design were use of grey water from lavatories to flush existing urinals and lavatory basin layout.
