Rand Harder

Rand has over 40 years of national and international experience in large scale planning, design, and architecture of retail centers and mixed-use developments. He began his career assisting with schematic designs for King Fahd’s International Airport and the Hawa Shopping Center in Saudi Arabia. Since then, he has taken on ever-increasing responsibility as a design visionary and leader. He is a hands-on designer who works closely with clients and is responsible for leading design, mentoring and guiding teams, and overseeing projects from concept through completion. Rand enjoys learning the story of a place and integrating those personal touches into the final design. He is passionate about human-centered, inclusive architecture where everyone can participate in the space.

“Distinguishing a particular place from another requires awareness of use, culture, a point in time and context,” says Rand. “Architecture has the opportunity to become the backdrop for memory making experiences. I believe that all people have a desire to connect not only with others but with a place, and in particular, places that foster a feeling of ownership and community pride.”
